Saturday is a perfect day for basketball! The first round of the BP Basketball League took place in Sabonio Basketball Center in Kaunas. BP teams arrived from many different regions of Lithuania. Young basketball players and fans enjoyed a true basketball marathon. The youngest athletes competed in basketball 3 X 3, while older ones challenged each other in 5 X 5 tournament. From the very beginning till the very end you could feel the energy and excitement in the air. After the competition children went to explore Kaunas. Project participants visited the “Žalgiris Arena”. This is the largest arena in Lithuania where the concerts of world stars are held but also BC “Žalgiris” matches. We catch up with the commander of the Lithuanian Volunteer Armed Forces Darius and Girėnas col.ltn. V.Grunda and the head of the team headquarters non-commissioned officer was R.Gresias and 203 brigade volunteers. Also, had a chance to walk in Kazys Vaverskis military field in Kazlų Rūda district. We were warmly welcomed at the President-Valdas Adamkus Library-Museum. President Valdas Adamkus is a prominent personality in the life of every Lithuanian. There, the historical heritage associated with personal activities is being accumulated, exhibitions are organized, and public events are held. We also went to the biggest in Lithuania Vytautas Magnus War Museum. Exposition was about the anti-Soviet time in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Army in 1920-1940, the famous Lituanica plane model, the resistance period. The children were happy to learn about Lithuania’s history not only at school.
